"It soon could get even harder to escape the long lens of city cameras.
Mayor Richard Daley wants to use the devices to snare people who defy signs ordering them not to park curbside on street-sweeping days.
Under an ordinance the mayor introduced Wednesday to the City Council, cameras would be installed on street sweepers. They would capture images of the temporary no-parking signs posted on street-sweeping days, as well as vehicles who defy them, triggering $50 tickets for their owners.
The effort is expected to save the city money because police won’t have to be called to the scene to issue tickets, Daley said.
If the program is approved, the city will start by putting cameras on six sweepers, one in each city sanitation district, as well as one that floats among districts.
Should that go well, the city might consider a similar program for vehicles parked on the street that block snow plows when overnight parking bans are in effect, the mayor said.

I don't think he was implying to "kill" democrats if that is what you were thinking. Although if they could just go away for an election term, the city might start heading in the right direction!!

So do they sweep on a preset schedule, or just post no parking signs x hours before they sweep, and if you don't see it tough luck?
My friend almost got in trouble in chicago for taking his 2500 diesel Dodge dually downtown to visit friends...but the out of state tags and his ability to parallel park while the officer was watching spared him a ticket. They seem to have a lot of rules...

I grew up in the Chicago suburbs during the first Daley Dynasty.
Since Democrats in Chicago tend to get something like 99.9% of the vote. All the dead people that still vote in the city, it would be safe to assume, are democrats. As well as the cats and dogs that vote. Also, the people that "Vote Early and Often". Etc.
There always been questions about the voting practices of the Democrat Machine in Chicago.

One of the cable channels ought to do one of those para normal investigations with the high speed cameras and the all the Ghost Buster rigmarole after they set up the polls, but before it opens and after it closes, and before they pull the ballots for the count.
you will even see dead people, or at least their cast vote along with their dead pets votes.
