Bobcat Map Question

Well, I'm a new user and I guess I must be having difficulty grasping the concept of unlocking maps, product keys, coupons, etc...

I just downloaded Bobcat and can't zoom into street level detail. Is there something I'm missing? Am I not allowed to do this? I can see my unlock code, but it says "map product not installed." What's up with that.

Forgive the newbie questions, but I'm just trying to get the most from my Nuvi680 that I can.

My main goal is to eventually import all my address book friends into my Favorites, and even THAT seems tedious. The only method I've found is mapping them in google maps and importing to mygarmin. Seems the "long way" around. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

As odd as this sound you need a copy of the street level maps to load into Bobact. Bobcat is running correctly by showing only the base maps. To get the street level maps they have to come from somewhere which normally is in the form of a map update. You should direct your question to Garmin support to inquire about getting a copy of the street maps. In your case there may be a cost involved for an update however I cannot say for sure if that will be the case.

Remember Bobcat is Beta software so support may be limited but it's worth a call to Garmin to find out.

Thanks. I appreciate the info. That is odd since I have the 2009 maps loaded on my unit. It's not like I could get an "upgrade" to load into Bobcat. Oh well, I guess I'll call Garmin and see what they say.
