If you are ever in Portland, you must go see the Japanese Gardens. They are located really close to the zoo which is another favorite location

Japanese Gardens
My wife and I visited them in August (and again in November). They are a contributing factor to our relocating from the East Coast to Portland.
Roses
When I was a teenager and broke I creeped in there with some scissors and got my date some very nice long stem roses.
