Hi everyone.
I am brand new to this site and need a little help.
I have a Dell laptop with Garmin nRoute software and a "dongle". I love the big screen.
Two questions:
1. The nRoute software has a button to Import Garmin GPS database files (*.GDB). If I download a POI file, how do I convert it to this format?
2. I also have a MacBook Air and would like to get GPS software for it like the nRoute that I have on the Dell. Anyone have suggestions?
Thanks
.
1. You need to convert your POI files to GPX format and nRoute should be able to open them. Then if you desire, you can probably save them in the GDB format.
2. Hmmm ... maybe the quickest thing would be to write the software yourself. : ) Seriously, it took Garmin long enough to develop the Mac software they currently have. I would not expect nRoute to be high on their list, unfortunately.

Thanks, Mama.
I actually discovered that there is an option to import GPX files. I downloaded and imported a POI file for National Parks but I am not sure it installed correctly.

Maybe I am on the wrong track: But why don't you manage all your files in MapSource, copy: wp, tracks, routes and paste it into nRoute?
