Chit Chat Thread for the week of June 30th 2008

This is the place to talk about things that are not gps related, you can discuss whatever you would like, as long as it is clean. Remember we have families that have their children involved in the GPS fun and we don't want to make parents feel uncomfortable when their children ask what that word means.

Have fun...

This thread will be closed on Monday and a new one will be opened.

1000 kph = 621.371192 mph

Do POI's even register at those speeds?! wink

I wonder with all the hits

I wonder with all the hits the big auto dealers are taking with the gas guzzlers have they gotten the message yet?People getting put out of work for lack of long range planning. How hard is it to produce a car or truck that gets great gas mileage?

I think that from now on I am not going to be in the middle of drinking something when I see that there is a new Sparky adventure to watch. Not good to have milk shooting out the nose when sitting at the keyboard.

Map is OK but it has trouble keeping up with calculating what road turns you should make....so don't try to navigate. Still good for distance to points and knowing exactly where you are.

RAYS SWEEP RED SOX!

The TB Rays (the team with the best record in baseball) take 3 from the AL East, 2nd place Boston Red Sox. shock

Hey, I gotta brag while I can. The Rays could return to the cellar at any moment. confused

Red Sox & Pat's fan & Asianfire

Congrats to Tampa Bay. Was cheering for my team, but they couldn't do it.

Just got our Pat's season tickets. Have very mixed emotions about the team. What a horrible, horrible, embarrassing, humiliating, disappointment the Super Bowl was. Our trip to Arizona wasn't a total loss, we enjoyed visiting our daughter & son in law in Tucson. In retrospect, I'm glad we sold the Super Bowl tickets.

Asianfire, you came on board about the same time I did. Always enjoy reading your posts.

4/10

Maybe employers should bring back the 4/10 work week again. Like we had when the gas supply was short. You know work 4 days at 10 hours and have 3 days off. One day less to drive to work. Save gas and $$$$. smile
Just my thought.
Oh yea!!!A bad day of fishing sure beats a good day at work.... smile

Awww, that is so sweet! Thanks! I have been good, but busy. We are trying to get the parent in laws moved up here, which is hard because they really don't understand anything about selling/buying houses and other things.

Daughter is great, she is going into the 6th grade next year...wow, it seems she was 1 lb just a few years ago (she really was, but 11 years ago)

Been very busy at work with year end (we work with the public school systems). Been trying to figure out my Rumor phone when I have free time. Think I have most of it figured out.

Thanks

Thanks for the clearing gas info.

Hi...new here...

Hello, I am new here to poi-factory. I just got a new Garmin nuvi 200 from my husband for an anniversary present. I like it much better than the C330 which I have been using for a little over a year. This whole poi thing is new to me. I am really pleased to see what can be done with this, and all the wonderful support on this site.

I'm looking forward to contributing here as well.

Thanks for providing this site.

I agree

The nuvi 200 is alot better than the older models.

Nuvi or not Nuvi

I haven't decided yet which one to get. I like the higher numbered models because of the SD card slot and the ability to play media files and such. Of course, being realistic, I probably wouldn't use those features anyway. Right now, I mostly use a Smart Phone or PDA with built in GPS receiver and software for navigation, geocaching and such. Of course, my lovely Mrs. doesn't have a problem telling me which way to go. Doh! Did I say that out loud? grin

Does this Link Retire now, because it is Monday?

Retire?

Normally yes as Miss POI will start a new one today but sometimes people reply to old ones if they have been away for awhile or see something they want to reply to.
