Let's talk about our vehicles...

I thought this may be a fun thing to do. I thought the 'whats the name of your nav' topic was quite fun in its way, but what about the nickname of the vehicle it sits on?
let me start..

I have a silver 2003 toyota corolla LE
I gave her a name, 'Lafissa Haweii'. My friends were bragging about their car names so I randomly came out with such an 'exotic' one. I got the inspiration of the name from hearing the Rascal Flatt's rendition of the Tom Cochrane classic song, "Life is a Highway"

It is the first song I play when going to a roadtrip.

That is great, I drive a 1995 Ford Taurus that is named "Mantis" Jon and I were going through a stage where we named everything electronic an insect name.

The car is a nice dark green so it got the name Mantis.

Miss POI

Haven't named mine yet

I've got a 2007 SAAB 9-3 Convertible. It's white with a tan top. At some point I may name it, but nothing's come to mind yet. The closest I've come is trying to come up with a custom license plate. However, 'SWEDECAR' is one character too long for Tennessee.

I'm a public transportation guy so...

When I'm on the trolley, I refer to it as "Slim."

When I'm on the bus I refer to it as "The Beast."

My nuvi 350 is always in my pocket. I'm just killing time, waiting for nuvifone to be released... I'll be so happy when I won't have to carry my phone, nuvi AND ipod everywhere!

Oddly enough I call it the my Subaru because my wife drives an 08 Forester...even more oddly she calls the Forester my Subaru...yes, very confusing smile

Big Red and Baby Blue

I recently bought a red F150 SuperCrew that has very large side trailer towing mirrors that look like big ears so we initially thought Dumbo or George Jones for a nickname. When it was parked next to our blue Mustang, it made the car look small so we ended up with Big Red and Baby Blue.

Not really a name but....

Audi and Toyota

My wife and I switch between an Audi A3 and a Toyota Sienna (both 2008 models - long story....)

We call the Audi "the Audi" (makes sense, eh?) but oddly enough we call the Toyota, "the Sienna".

Big and Little

I have a VW Passat Diesel and my wife prefers the large vehicles, so we have a Ford Expedition. On trips we take the VW (better gas mileage). The Expedition stays at home on the weekends.

Yellow mustang

I just traded in a bright yellow mustang. I always referred to it as the "Chick Magnet". Of course I am 63 years old and the only lady I was ever able to pick up with it was my wife of almost forever.

What's with all the SAAB hating?

Have you guys actually owned them or just making up stuff? Since GM bought them, there's been a few changes. They have more in common w/ current Cadillacs than their own models of the past.

No matter where you are "Life is Worth Living".

I have three vehicles I drive

My favorite is my Red 2005 S2000. I don't use the GPS in it because when I drive the S2000, I know exactly where I am going and I don't care if I get lost. It's known as "My Toy".

My daily driver is a 2001 Black Passat 240k and still looking great & going. I call it "a miracle". I never liked VW products until I bought this car from my friend. I use the Garmin 760 in this with the Bluetooth activated and a remote microphone.

My other is used for hauling stuff when needed. It's a 1995 Ford Ranger 4 banger 5 speed with no comfort features (like a/c, PW, PB or PS). It has 165k on it and I call it "My Ford POS".

My wife has the RAV4 and a Garmin 350. I call it "Her Car".

Never felt a need to name my car.
That said, it's also my third Dodge Stratus in a row. It's an 03 R/T Sedan with a six cylinder and a stick shift. I think they made that for all of like 2 years.

Pushing 75k miles, which for the Dodges means small stuff starts to break. I think I'll hang on to it for another year or two if I can. Can't really find much I'd like to replace it though. I like the 6 cylinder, 4 door sedan, with a stick.

I don't think any domestic US brands have that, and it looks like I might have to bump up to the luxury stuff (BMW, etc) to keep a decent engine with a stick. I don't want the 'economical low end stick' that some of the domestics had last time I was in the market for cars. You know, the ones where you also have to get the roll down windows smile

Speaking of POS

I once rented an inexpensive compact from a rental company, who then "upgraded" to a PT Cruiser. After a weekend of driving that overweight, underpowered subcompact, I now call the model a POS Cruiser.

Because if not she surely is a slow poke! And I would not like to drive behind her!!!!!!

Our Vehicles

My wife and I share a "back-up" vehicle. It is a 1990 Toyota Corolla we have called "Little Red" since the day we got her. Our Avalon is called "White" and I have yet to name my Pathfinder.

"Little Red" has 138,000 miles on her and here in the Southwest at 110 degrees if you put on the A/C it gets like a meat locker in there in about 4 minutes!

If you look up the word "economy" in the dictionary, I am sure you will see a picture of "Little Red." In fact, I think there is more chance of my wife of 35 years getting rid of me before she would ever part ways with "Little Red"!

thats your fault

you should have called it, 'chickS magnet' =)

Still Working on a Name...

Our nav is in our Honda Pilot. We have referred to the Pilot as our Family Truckster but nothing in concrete yet.

Heck we have had our little nuvi for a couple of weeks and it (he or she) still does not have a name.

Let's see what we can come up with.
