How long do POI's generally take to load on GPS unit.

Don't know how many POIs you are trying to load, but mine take about a second or two.

5 Minutes - something is wrong. Maybe abort and start over.

Did you go to Extras and then select custom POIs to see the downloaded files?

Your computer system - what version do you have - I have windows XP and when loading POI'S into my NUVI it takes less than a min to do this and I have quite a few that I constantly update

About 3500 POIs over eight to ten files, and the whole thing takes 30 seconds or less (Macs to Nuvi 660).

I have about 120k pois...some csv. and gpx. files. I have Windows XP and I've tried to shut down the computer and that doesn't work. I tried it today and it the POI loader takes forever... When I disconect the unit and look at custom POIs they are still the same.

Start smaller, maybe just one or two files, and make sure that works before trying 120k. Also, are you using a USB 2.0 port and a known good 2.0 cable?

Its a bad poi file that I downloaded yesterday..When I find it I'll let you know....which one it is.

It takes me 10 minutes to load my 660k Pois.
