I just picked up my new 2008 Goldwing this after noon and it comes with a navigation system designed by Garmin. Does anyone know if you can remove the CF Memory Card and add Custom POI's? Garmin did a real nice job designing this navigation system for Honda and there are some diffident features built into it that could really be a benefit to some of Garmins own products.
Can't say for sure......
... since I'm a Harley rider (lol).
But on my nuvi 780 I have a 2MB SD card, and that's where I store my custom POI file. Seems like that would work with your card. I assume you can access your card from your PC and that you have downloaded Garmin's POI Loader?

Built in?
Is the Garmin GPS built in or can you remove it from your GW?

I believe that you are not
I believe that you are not able to make any kind of changes/additions that you are asking for. Even the card is not supposed to be readable if you put it in your computer. While I have a Goldwing, I opted not for the gps because of this when the salesman told me.
As of right now I would
As of right now I would agree that Garmin and Honda have the navigation system tied up pretty tight. However, I understand that there are some riders / GPS enthusiast who received new updated SD Cards and are using the old cards to try and figure out if there is a way. For now I guess we'll just have to live with it the way it is.
