That's all it uses -- one voice.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

At some point I downloaded all the voices from Garmin.. Is there a way to make them available on this site?

Suggest You Wait for Next Upgrade

The voices aren't on this site and I doubt they are available at Garmin. I believe that Web Updater requires that you update your firmware before it offers all the voices you are missing. If you can wait for the next firmware update it should be really simple.

If you had a Nuvi, you could downgrade your firmware via the Perry archive site, and then use Web Updater to update both the firmware and the voices. However, he doesn't have the Streetpilot firmware archived. Perhaps somebody here has an old executable firmware file, but I hate doing upgrades any more often than necessary; something can always go wrong -- I lost my maps (totally gone) using Web Updater. So if you do anything, back up your entire unit first.

As I said I have them..

I guess I wasn't very clear. redface Don't remember when I downloaded them from Garmin but I did..

I would be happy to share them (If it's legal) just tell me how grin

I'm sorry, I thought you were the requester. I doubt this site wants to host the voices for the very reason you mention -- legal. I'm also not sure the voices are all the same but I'm pretty sure they are. You could email him and ask for his email address . . .

Looking for Help

I have a 200W. Let me know what voices you would like and I'll send them to you.

Web Updater should give access to voices

My web updater shows no firmware updates available (I already did that a month or two ago). Then it continues and lists all the voice files available. I have a 350 - maybe his is different?

Since I do not have and don't want to get the newest firmware for my 660, I couldn't test it out. Based on what he said about not being offered the voices, I THOUGHT I remembered having to do the firmware first -- but I guess based on your experience, that must not be the case IF you are up to date. I'm at a loss to explain his inability to see the voices.

Voices downloads

I found a site at garmin that has all the voices. It's for a unit I used to have but the voices seem to be for any unit:

I ran the updater and as stated it displayed the message:

Your Garmin device already has the latest software, which was followed by:

Proceed to check for additional updates such as voice updates.

Reinstall the same software.

However if you have no voices installed you may not be able to update them..

I proceeded for aditional updates and it did not have all the voices, just ones with updates..
