Did I dream this!!

Did I read a note from Miss POI last night about the way this site should be, informative, and kind to each other's questions. I tried to find it today and could not find it. If I did read it, I thank her. If you are asking a question about the 2009 update, you don't want to feel that you are dumb. As of right now, their are about 465 Q&A about the update. I am sure that most people are looking for a quick answer rather than read 465 questions. I don't need an answer that someone has answered with sarcasm because they feel that has been answered before. Please listen to Miss POI. We may have different opinions about Politics, Religion, even the Cars we drive, but I am sure that we all have one thing in common: We love our GPS and we all want to learn the best way to use it.

I certianly agree with you 100+% -- Some of us have "senior moments" or just forget after reading all the good information on this site.

I was away from the site a couple of weeks. Sorry to hear that things turned that way with the best forum I ever joined. Wish we can shape it together to the way it was.

There are lots of time and efforts done by the site administrators which I personally admire them for.

I have noticed something in the forum I think it was not there before. On the right hand side, in the navigation panel, if you put the mouse cursor on the title of a topic, the number of comments in that topic (thread) will appear. Is that a new addition or I did not notice that before? I was using Firefox browser. Good to see this feature anyway.

You are correct

You are correct. Well said. Perhaps a FAQ for this update and make it a sticky thread.

So are they still considered senior moments when you are only 36 years old?

I love this site for the main fact that I am with others with the same interest and not a lot of bs.

that works quite well...many times if I need an answer to something I just do a search string and the answer pops up...

"You can't get there from here"

You don't really mean...

You actually mean some on this site drive something besides a 3/4 two tone white and gold Ford truck??

And here I thought we were all the same..

lol.

It doesn't cost anything to be kind and especially so in written words.

Question...

Um, where can I find the 2009 update?

*ducks*

Just kidding....

I agree, too many people being LAZY and not searching for the answer, they just want someone to tell them what they want to hear without doing ANY work at all.

BTW... I downloaded the 2009 updates yesterday and updraged my 660 with the maps, just in time to head out of town next week.

Line in the Sand Statement

Miss POI

I went and read the "line in the sand statement".

I agree.

If I have strayed from that and have been mean, be assured it was not my intention... and I will appologize for any and all infractions.

What we really need is a bit of humor in our lives whereby we can laugh at our own selves.

Now... let's all drive the same truck... a 3/4 ton two tone, gold and white, with a v10 engine... and then we can gripe about the cost of gas... and blame our gps for not giving us the shortest route...

uh... you all do drive that kind of truck right? lol

I always try

I really do try to do a search for an answer to a question I have before starting a new thread. I can't believe that I'm ever the first to raise a question (I'm just not that clever!). But sometimes you do simply have to ask the question as it relates to your particular situation. I've always found people on this forum helpful - even of they are simply pointing me to a thread they think can help.

In my experience, this is a great place!

Be Good or Be Gone!

There is a great bar in NYC, McSorley's (oldest bar in NY, btw) that has a sign on their wall that reads : Be Good or Be Gone

Think that's appropriate here ... we should take a pic of that sign and place it on the 'getting started' page here! Maybe a pop-up reminder when folks go to add content.

As always ... well, almost always, Miss POI is absolutely right!!!

Thanks I really agree

Thanks I really agree

Well said. There are enough

Well said. There are enough forums out there that make Newbies feel bad when they ask a question. I have yet to see that here.

Totally agree.

Totally agree.

Love it

Maybe this should be [in bold type] a condition upon registering.
