My POI's on my C340 is full? Huh?

I just bought the Garmin C340. Downloaded all of the updated data from the Garmin website to my C340. (Yes, all of it....even all the different voice language updates. Maybe this was a boo boo) Then I went and started using the POI loader and started uploading POI's.

I got through about five of them, using some I found at another website...

http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/default.asp

then I went to add a Starbucks list...

and now I'm getting a message that my POI's are full???

I'm only at around 5,000?

What's the deal? I thought I read in other posts here that it holds close to 60,000 POI's?

Can anyone help me out? What's going on? Did I do something wrong? Do I need to completely reset my Garmin and start over? If so, how would I do that? Is there a way to erase uploaded data?

Thanks in advance

c340 memory for POIs

One user was told by Garmin technical support that the c340 has 2MB of internal memory for storing POIs. I haven't seen any posts that indicate if voice files are using this same memory or not.

I've added a couple links to the start of this discussion that may be helpful. In particular, I've included a link that describes how to remove custom POIs. The new 2.4.0 POI Loader includes a remove option.

I'd be very interested in learning if voice files use this same memory. If anyone has first-hand info from Garmin, please share.

does it show up as another drive?

If so, you could right click and then click on properties. This would show you the amount of space - used and free - from that, you could figure out what the total allocated space on the 340 is. Also would allow you to figure out how much more you could load...or need to delete in order to load what you needed for a particular trip or whatever.

mass storage

The right click trick works on newer GPS models that appear as a "mass storage" device when connected to your computer. However, I don't think c340 shows up this way.

JM is correct on this.

JM is correct on this. The 340 will not show up as
a drive on your Computer. The only way to access it
is through POI Loader when transferring poi's

Plus and Minus

Not sure if this is correct for the c340, but the c530 shows up as drives as previously mentioned. The downside is that they are only drives and I can't use the c530 on my PC with Mapsource or nRoute as a GPS. It is only a drive.
