After installing my new map by download to my computer, is there any reason to keep it on my hard drive? I do not use mapsource.

Map to CD

I did the download. The Garmin Map file is showing 1,450.00 MB on my hard drive. I do not have a DVD burner just a Cd RW. A blank CD will hold 700 MB so can I put it on 3 CDs?

It is possible to burn it to 3 CDs using a splitter program or backup program to burn it. These methods always scare me in that they could damage the file. Do at your own risk. I would buy a flash drive or USB hard drive and move it there.

To the first question about keeping it, yes you should. Should you ever need to re-load the update you would need the file. Garmin is only allowing a second download for a very limited time. So, if you don't want to buy it, full price this time, keep the download.
