Home Depot Discussion

The Home Depot US file is fairly large - is there a need or a desire to also have state or regional files?

What do you think?

Home Depot closing 10 stores

Well do not forget to ax the ten stores that are closing. Ours is one of the 10 here in Louisiana. Store has been open for two years and now it shuts down. Another big box that will be empty.

Thanks Home Depot!

Really!

I hadn't heard that.

Okay, HD's web site says they are closing 15 stores. I have no way of knowing when the stores will actually close their doors. Should I go ahead and delete them?

When store closing is announced, it usually happens pretty quickly. The closing stores usually are not restocked. I would not want to go there and find them closed or out of items. And probably they are in an area where there is competition from other HD's or Lowes. So I vote for delete.

Store closings

Why not just put a note on the stores that may be closing. That way, if they change their minds in the future, you still have the location in the file. If anyone wants to go to one of these stores, they can call and see if it is still open.

Good Idea

I think this is the best way to handle it. I can delete the locations later after they have been taken off the next iteration of the corporate list.

Please Clarify...

So are you saying the end user (generic "you") can split it up if he or she so desires, or are you saying I (specific "you") could use POI Verifier to do it? (The former implies there is no need to post separate state files. confused )
Thanks.

Well if you see a combined

Well if you see a combined file that does not have the individual state files listed as optional downloads you can use POI Verifier to single out the states that you want.

Or you could just open the file in excel or word and delete all the ones that you are not interested loading it to your unit.

Agree with note

Perhaps a note or comment next to address. I know that the next day after it was in the news our HD had the 30% signs out and a full parking lot. (for the first time). They tell us 4 weeks and it will lock the doors for good.

Already done.

I added notes to the entry for each closing store.
