Garmin 250 Problem

 

I have a Nuvi 250 and i am having problems with the vehicles. i had hooked it up to my computer, loaded some more vehicles on it and it replaced the blue arrow that you start with when you first get it. so now when i am trying to change my vehicle on the nuvi it freezes and does not allow me to do anything other than turn it off. any suggestions on what i should do.

Take the vehicles off the nuvi and add them back one at a time until you find the one that is causing the problem.

i was thinking on just reseting the thing and reloading all my stuff, can i do that and have it like i just bought it.

Hmmmm

You can reset it and remove all user installed files, yes. I believe this will also reset the unit to factory settings. As to having it like you just bought it, I won't go there. But, it should be close.

In order to set the unit back to the manufacturing status, press the lower right corner of the screen while powering the unit on. Continue pressing there as the unit starts. This will reset the unit to its factory settings.

pushing the reset button on the back of the unit will only make a hard reset without resetting the data.

thanks, i have reset the nuvi, but i am still unable to reset the vehicles on it. it is still freezing when i am trying to change my vehicle. do you have any other suggestions.

I think it is time to use the fabulous Garmin support I hear about...I have used them and they are good...

Did you load any of the icons that is not supported by your GPS model?

no i have not deleted any

no i have not deleted any files, but when i was loading some, you know that modified screen that comes up to add the new version of something, that came up when i was loading stuff.

everything that i have

everything that i have loaded has been from the garmin site.

I would still call

I would still call Garmin...they may have a quick fix or be able to tell you what the problem is...still in warranty????

RESETING

I have finally heard back from grmin and they said i can reset it by the reset button. i have tried that and it is not reseting anything. any suggestions?

CALL GARMIN

I have Found that by calling Garmin directly you save a lot of time. Because they will work with you trying different things without you have to try it and re-email them to find something different to try.

CALL THEM AND TALK WITH A TECH!!

PS if you have HIGH SPEED internet they can sometimes go directly into your Garmin Unit and fix it them selves. They did that with my 750
