Nuvi 260 on a cruise ship

We are going on a cruise out of Florida, I would like bring my GPS with me. We will be going to Aruba, Turks, and the Bahamas. I have a AC charger, so charging would not be a problem. Has anyone brought their GPS with them on a cruise? Am I better off just to leave it home?

Not that useful, but fun

I brought my nuvi 200 to the Caribbean last month. I download free Caribbean maps from http://rwsmaps.griffel.se/

You can load them on your nuvi with MapSource. The maps have much more info than the base map, but are not routable.

I couldn't get a satellite link from my balcony. Had to go to the deck.

bring it

If just for the fun of watching your position as the ship goes from island to island and if the ship happens to make port of call in Key West or Puerto Rico you will be able to know your way around with the Nuvi260

nuvi coverage

Yes,

The nuvi has full coverage of the Keys and PR. USVI also, I think.

I've taken GPS on Cruise

Although on our ship, the TV had a station displaying maps, coordinates, ships navigation statistics, I was still happy I had mine.

It was useful to me to have it while on shore leave. Wondering around, I could always know how far away I was from the ship, where I'd been, if my wife wanted to remember a store to revisit - had several good uses.
