Truncation of home phone number on Nuvi 770

Anyone seen this: I enter my home phone number into my home preferences. If I subsequently try to call it, it truncates the number so the call is not completed... If I open the home prefs, the complete number is there...

It will drop off the last 2
It will drop off the last 2 numbers. For some reason, this only happens with HOME. Go to Favorites, and edit the number by taking out the hyphens. Then, it works just fine.
Why it only does this with HOME, I don't know. Once fixed, it's not that big of a deal
I want to be able to use the symbols
Since I have a Nuvi 770 it would be really handy if I can call home from abroad. In my phone, all my numbers are entered as +1 xxx yyyyyyy which means that I get a connection from wherever I call (+1 being the international access code for the US).
I'll submit it to Garmin as a potential improvement.
