magellan 2200t general "off map" behavior - mexico

Hello! I've liked my 2200T in the states here but was very disappointed to see there are no maps available for Mexico for it. The "topo mexico" pack doesn't appear to be compatible with my model-

I'm wondering if there is any way to load a map or get some use out of my roadmate 2200T down there.

Surprisingly, I haven't found a way to manually input GPS coords from the touch screen either. Is the only way to create a custom POI file and load it in there? Will this give me some raw functionality when I'm "off the map"?

There's no way to input coordinates on that model.

Thanks for the quick response--- Looks like my old portable eTrex device will be of more use there..
