c 340 (map outdated message)

i have a garmin c 330 its about two years old and has all of the current updates the map is nt 8 . twice since i had the unit when you boot it up it says your map is outdated . turn the unit off and boot it up again and i dont get the outdated map thing . only happened twice in two years is it programed to tell you this on a set time frame ? thanks glenn

It will go away eventually (as you discovered). You can ignore it if you don't want/need to update your maps.

There's no user controlled setting regarding this. It's based upon the date of the maps.
