His and Hers GPS

I was looking in a The Source store (Canadian Radio Shack)this weekend and saw they were having a sale on the Garmin 250 but selling them as "his and Hers' sets. One was the regular color but the other one was pink. They were selling like hot cakes. Does color really matter? grin

Pink

And to think that Best Buy in the United States said that pink is a Best Buy exclusive color. Maybe they meant a United States exclusive color!

Color is mind over matter. It matters to some and not others. Pink is normally for females. Also, by having two different colors it is easier to know one unit from the other.
However, in all actuality, other than color, there is no difference.

Hope this helps.

Color Does Matter

I've got some family members that would buy a lesser GPS (or some other product), IF a lesser model was available in their favorite (or a more feminine) color.

I guarantee you that if TomTom based GPS units don't come in pink, there are many many people who are first time buyers of GPS units who will gravitate to pink........and yes........just for the color.

Thanks for the update on the color thing, because I can most likely convinve a family member or two to go Garmin!

Different Colors

Too right! My wife and I both have C340's and of course we have different favorites. So we have to be pretty careful when one of us is on the way out the door to make sure we grab the right one. Especially true when I fly as I don't need it to get to the airport.

Like cell phones...

It was just a matter of time before the GPS units went the way of cell phones...colors and trims.

Time to get out acrylic paint and fake diamonds and jazz mine up! LOL

Pimp out my GPS

Cheryl,

Sounds like we are going to need a new section in the Forums soon, "Pimp out my GPS".

His and Hers

My wife and I have identical 660's. Our splash screens are different, but I have been thinking of doing something to the outside of the unit like a sticker or something. Any ideas?

I guess color matters some.

I guess color matters some. I wouldn't carry around a pink GPS. My wife would get the pink one, especially if it was to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

My daughter has jewl stickers

My daughter has jewl stickers that have fake diamonds on them if you would like a few. I mean for the wife, not you. But you are more then welcome to use them too...lol.

What about using a label maker, I use that for everything.

Wish I could get away with fake diamonds. Label maker sounds perfect!
