PIO road construction alerts

I have a newly purchased Garmin 350. While at the Garmin web site, there was an options to down, or install, the current list of road construction areas. I accomplished this, directly to my GPS, while it was connected to the computer. Although, I’m not sure what this does or how it works.. I don’t see an additional PIO file. Is this suppose to alert me when I’m approaching a constructions area, or automatically re-route? Anyone Know?

Are you talking about the

Are you talking about the TMC traffic alerts? That has to be activated through a separate cable and it is "real time" (not really, don't think anyone is really impressed with it) and not a static POI file.

I accomplished this about 2 weeks ago, and I believe it was from the Garmin update site.

.

If you type the word "construction" into the search box on Garmin's website, the only hits that come up refer to the Traffic Receiver services.

There is no "download" of road construction information that I am aware of for Garmin units other than that which is provided by subscribing to the Traffic Services.

bb044 by any chance did you

bb044 by any chance did you get that download when you used webupdater? When I use webupdater for my c340 I get the option of downloading firmware update for gtmxx traffic receiver. You need the traffic reiceiver cable for this option?

Construction

There is a update in Microsoft Streets and Trips where you can download the latest construction information. That is only for MS S&T.
