Has there been any Maestro 3225 firmware updates lately? If so, are there any significant changes to the GPSr with this update?

I don't think so I just got mine and it seems there are no new updates. If there was one out it has to be a while back because my 3225 has a movie theater in the area that is listed under the POI but closed a few months ago.

As of 6/10/2008 no updates are listed on the Magellan Website. Take that for what it is worth...

Somebody from a local GPS store told me that Maestro series / line is or will be discontinued very soon so I guess no more updates.

Even if that rumor is true, they still could and should provide updates........at least maps. Since they have charged $$$ for that in the past, it hardly makes sense to stop doing it.
Oh, and do you think it is possible that they told you that because they wanted to sell you a DIFFERENT model ????? Does that store even carry Magellan ??? Every so often sales people bend the truth a little bit.

They probably won't.....Heck, they seldom update their maps..... I think it's still a good GPS for beginners and also for the price.

yeep that store is carrying Magellan Maestro 3xxx and 4xxx;
however... I see they offer, now, the Maestro 5xxx series
