Inconsistent routing with Nuvi 350

OK - so I'm one of those who runs his Nuvi while driving the SAME route every day to & from work. Except Wednesdays, I have a class that's on the way home from work. Naturally, I have a POI set for that.

Every once in a while, my Nuvi tells me to get off at a different exit to get there. I just don't get that. The road the school is on parallels the tollway. So most of the time it has me get off at exit A and take Road X 1.5 miles west to the school. And in maybe 1 time out of 4 it tells me to get off 2.5 miles earlier at exit B and take the same Road X 4 miles to the school instead. Same Road X. Same distance from the tollway.

Now if I had a traffic receiver I could understand that it knew exit A was congested or something so it said to get off earlier. But I don't have a traffic receiver.

Anyone else see something like this where it does not produce the exact same route each time like you would expect?

It does happen to me occasionally and being a person who gets bored taking the same route over and over, I find it refreshing. Good to know there's more than one way to get somewhere. You never know when that alternate route may come in handy. ie: accident, closed roads due to flooding etc.

Try swapping voices. LOL Have you noticed any changes in conditions (I.E. Sunny, #sats received, lane you are in, etc.)

I have found that it may

I have found that it may change depending when I do the route. For instance, if I want to go from A to B and start the route before I move, I get one route. If I activate the route while enroute, it may give me a different one, even though I was traveling the same route as if I had activated it before I left A.

When mentioning this, my wife stated "Well, you're the one who picked a female voice. Then don't complain when she changes her mind."

Betcha you're right

I will investigate this. Normally, I wait until it acquires the sats and then select my destination and drive off. I know that at least one of those times I was late so I popped it in the cradle and took off right away and entered my PIN and selected the destination on the fly.

Not really that big of a deal, but because both routes are so close and actually use the same road, it was a curiosity.
