Nuvi 350 jpegs that never die

I have a new Garmin Nuvi 350. I wanted to get rid of the jpegs which came with the unit from the factory and put my own photos on the 350. Using my Mac computer I deleted the factory jpegs and then saved some of my jpegs to the jpeg directory. When I turned the 350 on and went to the picture viewer I was able to see my photos but the factory jpegs are still there as though I never deleted them. When I recheck the jpeg directory the factory jpegs are not visible in the directory. Am I stuck with these photos taking up disk space. How do I get rid of them for good? The user manual is no help.

Macs & trashcans

One of the resident Mac experts here will have to correct me if I'm wrong...

When you hook your Nuvi up to the Mac, the Mac OS creates a sort of hidden trashcan folder on the Nuvi where the files you delete go...and you need to make sure you 'take out the trash' before you unhook the 350, or, cut&paste/move the files from your 350 to the Mac desktop, or somewhere, then delete them.

Keith Said It Perfectly

Either empty the trash before disconnecting which empties the trash for the computer and the Nuvi, or the alternative is to move the file first to the computer and then delete it.

Also, make sure that you are using the beta ver of the POI Loader, or else you probably won't see the manual load option.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

Thanks, that resolved the issue.
