Why black squares in the middle of nowhere?

I did a search and couldn't find any answers relating to this. I did find the black squares are supposed to be default POI's.
Why are there black squares in odd places. I drive down quite a few back country roads and see black squares appear on my Nuvi350's screen. There is farm fields on both sides, no buildings, no houses, absolutely nothing around. Is there a way to pull a screen up that would tell what it is POI-ing in the area?

If you browse the map screen by dragging your finger on it and hover the pointer over the POI, you will see what it is.

Be careful doing this while driving
If you browse the map screen by dragging your finger on it and hover the pointer over the POI, you will see what it is.
This is a great suggestion! I do it all the time, however, just and FYI. When you do that you have to touch the screen twice, once, for your own location and second time to grab and drag it. Also, it automatically turns the map North Up. So if you are in track up, it can (at least with me) throw you off a bit.
