My downloaded POI files are not showing up in my gps unit. Help!

I am new at this. I am trying to download campground POI files. I have the POI download software on my computer. I created a folder on my desktop. I downloaded two POI files and put them in a folder labeled "campgrounds" within the POI folder on my desktop. I double clicked the POI download software and plugged in my gps garmin 760. It appeared to download the files.

But I now cannot find any trace of these new campground files on my gps unit. ???

What am I doing wrong?
I expect this question has been answered before, but I do not know where to look. (I did a search on downloading POIs and on creating categories, but I am still at a loss.)

Thank you so much for your help.

Not sure but believe your

Not sure but believe your model would have them listed under extras.Click on my locations, custom pois or extra and they should be there if the download was sat.

POI.gpi

If you used POI Loader, your files are in a newly created file on the GPSr called POI.gpi. Everytime you run POI Loader, it will overwrite that file unless you change the name.

You should read the Getting Started stuff and FAQs at the top of the page.

I did read the faqs...

It is as if the files did not load onto my gps.

I will keep experimenting.
other suggestions are welcome.

Did you try to use poi loader and load them to a s/d card and try to view them.

After you use POI Loader to load the POI's, it will say "122 POI's successfully loaded" (or some such wording). Did you get that message? Make sure you are pointing to the folder containing your files when it asks for your source.

I have the grey circles but no campground POI listings

ok, I see the little grey circles on my maps that indicate the download was successful.

But I cannot find anything in my POIs or anywhere else on my gps that will bring up the names and address of these campgrounds. ????

Extras/Custom-POIs

Look under Extras/Custom-POIs

campground POI files

Ndakotab.Just for starters make a folder called my pois then click on it and make a sub folder called campgrounds. Now put the two campground csv files into the subfolder.Hook the gps unit up to the computer and run the poi loader.Make sure to direct the loader to the main folder my pois not the sub folder. You should get a sat download now go back and look on the gps for the campgrounds.

Touch the screen where to then look for extras or custom pois.If you don't see them tell us what you see after you touch the screen where to.
