Garmin Support Outstanding

Yesterday my Nuvi 660 had a problem. A short time after leaving home my Nuvi 660 had a problem accessing the satellites. I would receive a message poor satellite reception then it would not connect. After waiting about one hour I would try it again and sometimes it would connect and other times it would not. Finally it stopped connecting all together.
After reaching my destination in Florida I contacted Garmin support and explained the only thing I have done with my Nuvi 660 was update the firmware about one week ago and this was the first time I used it since the upgrade.
When I called Garmin support I waited on the phone for less than one minute and the support rep was very polite and walked me through a hard reset of my unit. She also said the firmware upgrade would not cause the unit not to access the satellites. She determined that my unit would need to be replaced and instructed me on how to send it back to Garmin International. She said on receipt of my unit she would send out a replacement one.
I would like to commend Garmin on their outstanding support and connecting me to a support person without delay.

I have hd nothing but

I have hd nothing but outstanding service and support from ther CSR's. Every time I have called, they have taken care of everything immediately.

They're Great

Garmin knows how to keep their customers happy and coming back. Every product will have some problems, but the way the problems are handled is the most telling about the company. Garmin is the gold standard for service from my experience.

Best service ever

A few months ago the backup lithium battery on my Garmin GPS III no longer kept my waypoints. My unit was bought in '97 and I just called to see how much the battery would be.

To my amazement they said it was free and I only had to pay shipping one way! So I sent my GPS in and in a few days I had a new fully functional GPS. They also replaced the dented case, and the loose antenna.

Now that is the best service I ever had! A free battery fix, new case and new antenna for a 10 year old GPS.

I just suspect they will not replace the Nuvi batteries for free. Any thoughts?

Garmin support

I also have only good words for Garmin support. They took less than a minute to answer my call and fixed my problem in about two minutes.

Funny Story

Contacted Garmin via e mail, asked nicely for the Mapsource cd for free.Request granted..4 days later in mailbox.RAN to the computer, tore the package open.awwwww nuts...they sent Map update 2008 by mistake..Called support, talked to Cindy.Problem fixed in 30 seconds..AND..told her that my nuvi 750 was doing funny things after the latest software upgrade..she asked: want a new one? well after the shock wore off I said i'd watch it for a few days and if it still acts up..sure why not.I wish all companies were that understanding. They get two thumbs up by me!

I also got the Map Update

I also got the Map Update 2008, but they promptly sent the Mapsource. They have a terrific Customer Service department.

A+++ for Customer Service.

I have been trying to buy some of their Mad Maps. The website has not been updated to accept purchases from Canada.

After a few calls and emails, I got an email from a Supervisor. He asked me for my account, apologized for the delays a promptly put the downloads into my account... no charge.

Now I remember why I switched from Magellan to Garmin.

They know, most of the customer Service Reps, how to treat their customers.

Garmin replaced the mount

I have my c330 for a bit over a year. I keep my car in the garage. It's only in the sun for abou 15-20 hours per month. Nevertheless, the suction cup on the mount deteriorated. It cracked and partially fell off and some of the rubber remained stuck to the windshield.
I phoned Garmin, and they promptly sent me a new suction cup mount. That's good service!

Yeah the same happened with

Yeah the same happened with my c530 and I got another one by calling them. The new one has a much better rubber compound and it has done well. I actually gave it to my coworker cause I got the nuvi and it had the new rubber compound so I didn't need it.

Garmin Phone Service

I was also very impressed by the rapid phone response when I called Garmin with some questions when I first purchased my Nuvi 650. The wait time was very, very short and the staff at Garmin were able to help me.
