All or nothing

The file has it all, once in your PC open the file and delete what you don't need.

thanks for the input.bye for now

Wouldn't that take forever

Wouldn't that take forever to do, though? With as many as there are, it seems as though it would take some time.

Could you resort and put them by states and do it that way?

red light cameras

that is what i am doing ,it does take awhile, but i am going with the west half of u.s. just to save space on my unit.

Makes sense. While it is

Makes sense. While it is great to have them all, and it is well worth it, it will definitely save space to delete the ones you won't use. You can always download again if you want them all.

Yeah...

And his c330 doesn't have that much space for extras. For me, the 217k file seems insignificant, but I think his GPSr only has about 2 mb of space. Not very generous.. rolleyes

Sort by State

If you have a spreadsheet program like Excel you can sort on the state in a few seconds and then delete what you don't want.

we do have excel but i will have to have my daughter help me out on that as i am not to good on the computer.thanks!

File Size

I did the same thing with Starbucks. The entire file was 1 meg plus so I eliminated all the states I don't routinely drive through. If I fly somewhere, I can always reload the entire file

Kids

Gotta hate these kids (just kidding, of course). My 11 yr old daughter teaches me new stuff everyday. She has to help me out all the time

Excel script

I have an excel script where it asks me for a latitude / longitude box and deletes very POI not in the box.

POI Verifier

Doesn't POI Verifier also allow you to strip out certain states? Or am I thinking of some other application?

Poi Verifier

I'm sure POI Verifier allows you to strip out states, but you can also use Excel's Autofilter, or even the advanced filter, to strip out any Lat/Lon boundary you want. This would be especially usefully if you just want a few cities within a state.

Tom

It is fairly easy to do

It is fairly easy to do multiple sorts and delete the locations that you don't want. It is a simple Excel spreadsheet after all!!!

Just remember to keep an original untouched copy (just in case!!!).

Poi verifier

Where does one get a poi verifier?

.

No download link

MM, went to the site from the node you mentioned, but there was no download link on the website.

Any suggestions?
