Garmin nuvi 360 for $250

Hi, I like to get your input on Garmin nuvi 360 for $250.

I bought a Garmin nuvi 650 for $300 at Costco, right after Thanksgiving 2007. I thought it was a great deal, as the price is much lower than what I see online or in electronics store.

Well, my wife and I like it so much that we want to get a 2nd GPS unit, preferrably Garmin.

Costco current has sale for Garmin nuvi 360 for $250. If I compare 350 for $249 and 650 for $300, it seems the 350 for $249 is not a good deal.

Any input on this? Or recommendation for basic GPS with 3.5" screen with street name speech capability?

Nuvi 360

I love my nuvi 360! It has a slightly smaller screen than the 650, but I actually like the smaller unit for portability purposes (putting in my pocket or briefcase etc).

The 360 has Bluetooth ... the 650 does not.

Beyond that, they are almost identical.

I like the smaller size and bluetooth functionality for business travel.

I'd say grab the 360 for $250 .... in a heartbeat!

If 'hands free' is important

If 'hands free' is important to you, I would go with the 360.

I'm in the same place, with a 650 from costco, wondering if I should return it and get the 360. I travel often and remove the unit from the car every time and was thinking the 360 was better in that sense. I also notice the 650 is almost ignored by Garmin as even though the unit is a bigger 350, it lags in the firmware updates and is not even mentioned on update lists on the site. Makes me think they don't intend to keep making updates for it. I'm just worried that I'll regret the smaller screen.

I find the 3.5 a little hard

I find the 3.5 a little hard on my older eyes. The 4.3" is good, but I sure wish they had a reasonable priced 7" Garmin!!!!

I also gave a couple of the 650s for Christmas presents and they have been used BIG time replacing old 330 units.

I hear'ya, the 650 screen is nice. On the other hand, the 360 also has voice commands which help offset the screen size difference a bit. For those with BT units, is it really useful? Does it perform well or is it not worth it? My car is a bit noisey so I may end up not ever using it if I get the 360. If that's the case I'll just stick with the 650.

go with the bigger screen...

go with the bigger screen... it's much better to see see the side streets. 250W is basic if you can find a good deal on it

I prefer the smaller lcd for portability

No Voice Command for 360

The 360 has BT which allows your phone (if compatible) to dial by name, but the unit has no voice command capability of its own. BT is great, but it's not voice command.
