Red Light Camera problem

Hi;

I just updated my red light POIs on my Nuvi 760 and am noticing an odd problem. Please note that an earlier version of the red light POIs worked just fine.

Now when I turn on my Nuvi after it boots it comes up with a speed wrning of some sort, with a ludicrous speed of like 538459850329 MPH. This warning screen usualy cannot be dismissed, or if it can the Nuvi locks up (shuts off) when I access the map.

I got to the map ONCE and where it normally shows POIs it has a "variable sped warning area" alert of some sort.

If I delete all my POIs and reload all of them EXCEPT the red light camera POIs it seems to work OK.

I do not have any speed alert POIs loaded. I had tried loading the speed alerts at one point bu then deleted them when I noticed that the current set is primarily for AZ.

Any ideas?

Speed Alert

If you have a number in the filename of your poi. I have heard that the GPSr will consider that as a speed alert.

.

justlen, I glanced at the redlight and speed cameras in the file and didn't see anything unusual.

Do you have any other files loaded? Do you have numbers in those filenames?

Speed-Cameras(2).csv

I just downloaded the enforcement camera zip file. When unzipped, the Speed Camera file is named Speed-Cameras(2).csv. It did not overwrite the original Speed-Cameras.csv from before. I manually deleted the old file and renamed the new file and had no troubles. Perhaps that is the cause of his problems. Could it be that it is interpreting the speed as negative 2?

Deja vu

This sounds very much like what my StreetPilot C510 did - except that the fault disappeared after power-cycling:-

I had the same problem.

I had the same problem.

overwrite

what do you mean it didn't overwrite the old one? did you move the old redlightcamera file into another folder? I always do and I don't have any problems, try that and see if it works. Basically what happens is it will load both files if you have them stored within the same directory with unique names.

I used the default naming of the POI file, which I think is "Redlight Cameras".

Deja Vu, I got the exact

Deja Vu, I got the exact same thing, with the Tour Guide icon. It came back even after a reboot of the GPS.

The POI file had no numbers in it, and I tried it by deleting all user POIs then loading just the redlight camera POIs.
