Nav -Mat problem

Im currently using the nav mat. It works well but sometimes the suction fails. I'm thinking about cementing it to the mat. I would simply put the whole setup in the trunk when not in use. Has anyone gone that route. Any suggestions?

I don't know...

... what the nav-mat is so I can't say. I use the beanbag friction mount, which works quite well for me.

The Nav-Mat is also a

The Nav-Mat is also a beanbag friction mount. It just doesn't come with the arm and ball already attached. I use the one that came with my 760 and attach the unit to the friction mount. It was about $12 less expensive, which is about the amount of buying a arm and ball mount.

I have enjoyed the Nav Mat thus far. I haven't had my unit disconnect from teh Nav Mat while in use luckily, but if I have left the unit connected overnight in the cold, it was disconnected the next morning once.

Don't know what the answer is. Whether to apply a permanent disc to the Nav Mat would work, I don't know.

Just a idea.Why don't you

Just a idea. Why don't you get some small clips to attach the unit base to the base in the mount.Never liked to do anything permanent just in case I change my mind. The plastic strips you buy at auto stores that you install along the side of the door to prevent dings should also work.
