Connecting your Nuvi to your Car Radio

 

Just thought I share this info. You've got the cool Nuvi gadget, but how you can make it better. It's possible to connect your Nuvi to your car audio system with a few purchased supplies. converts the CD Changer port of your factory radio into an auxiliary input. Ask any car stereo installer to find you an "aux box" that will work with your particular make/model of vehicle audio system and they can get one and install it for you.

It is not excatly an easy job. I have to take apart the housing for the shifter in order to gain access to the radio in my Civic. The connector can cost $50 depending on the make. I did it for my iPod not the Garmin.

Unless you listen to music using your Nuvi. It's not practical just use it to hear a much better sounding voice directions.

It's a good thing new cars finally have aux inputs.
