New Server for POI Factory

POI Factory is getting a new, bigger server smile

Visitor traffic has grown a lot since November. And with continued growth, it won't be too long before our old setup runs out of steam.

This week, I'm busy preparing a new server that has roughly twice the capacity. If things go well, I expect to move POI Factory over to it by week's end.

JM

.

Great news. Thanks for all the effort the you and Miss POI are putting on this site.

Mid night changes

The change will happen in the middle of the night when we have the least amount of traffic so that it does not do any psychological damage to all of you POI Factory addicts out there.

Miss POI

But what if...

I, a dyslexic agnostic insomniac, am up that night asking myself "is there really a doG?" and also passing time reading the forum? What will I do? smile

Great a new server!!!!!! I

Great a new server!!!!!! I know all about those, I helped set up a 1 terabit network server at school for all of the media centers music and video recordings and it was a pain. but hey at least i get unlimited access to it to store my own stuff. And speaking of the middle of the night, thats when im always doing work and checking the forum and putting in my 2 cents. oh well i guess 1 night wont kill me.

Anyway thank you miss poi and JM for all of your hard work in making this place AWESOME.

1 gig to a 2 gig

We are moving to a 2 gig environment but we are going to keep our 1 gig server for our test environment, so we will now have 2 servers. We are with a company, it would be too much extra work to run the site and the server.

Miss POI

Good Luck..

Good luck with the new server upgrade. Will you have a New Look to POI Factory?

server

Thanks fo9r all your hard work with the site.
