Subaru GPS unit

HELP

I have a 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon with the GPS system included. Love the vehicle but the Nav system is at least six years old.(judging by new highways that are NOT on) Subaru seems not to have an upgrade.

The data given on the DVD is:
Subaru Navigation System. Ver.1.1 2005 - 2006
Other data on the DVD: WEST 86283AGO4B
2004 Denso Corporation
GDT by info USA 2003

I have found lots of dead ends re updates so now am hoping some of you can throw a bit of light on the situation. Thanks.

Why not ask Subaru about how to update the system?

They have to know something. Maybe not the dealer, but a rep higher up in the system. Go to the national organization if need be. That's my 2 cents.
