Nuvi 660 Bluetooth and Treo 700P

I have a Nuvi 660 and a Treo 700p which work together well with bluetooth with one exception: When a call comes in the Nuvi caller ID screen displays the last call ID, not the current one. It is like it is reading from the call history file. The phone has the correct caller ID but not the Nuvi.

Anyone else experience this? Except for this minor bug the unit is really great.

I've got the same set up and

I've got the same set up and experienced the same problem. Unfortunately, I haven't found a work around for it but I did contact Garmin support to see if they had a suggestion. If I hear back, I will post here.

Otherwise it works great. I usually keep my phone in my pocket and the Nuvi connects as soon as I get in my car.

Previously I had a TTGO910 (before I returned it and got the Nuvi 660) and trying to connect my Treo 700P with that was a pain.

Treo 660 and Nuvi

I did call the Garmin support line today. They say they have a software update coming out any day now (he said Friday 1/12) that is supposed to fix the issue. Thanks for letting me know you had the same problem because I thought it might have been my setup.

Also every once and a while I get a message on the Nuvi that says "phone disconneted". The phone doesn't disconnect and continues to work fine. Do you get the same thing? My Treo is on Verizon.

Phone Disconneted and Caller Id

I have a Treo 700p Verizon and have the same two issues.

Voice Dailing and the Treo 700p

Does anyone know of any third pary software that would make it possible to use Voice Dailing with Treo 700p and the Nuvi 660. I seem to have a problem ofen pressing the wrong phone number while driving. I was considering changing my phone. Am I the only one?
Thanks for any feedback.

Voice Dialing on the Treo 700p

You probably know this already-There is a voice dial app you can buy for the Treo 700P http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/treo/treovoicediali....
However, with the 660 you need to initiate the call from the phone, then it transfers automatically to the Nuvi. You press the button on the side of the phone, say "call John Smith" then the call will be placed thru the Nuvi via bluetooth. It works well but it's not exacly pushing a button on the Nuvi and saying the name.
I put the phone on my console, pick it up to make the call; when it starts to ring I put the phone down which minimizes eyes off the road time.

A different way to solve the problem is there is a bluetooth device called a Supertooth II by Blue Ant. (Separate device from the Nuvi with a built in speaker $80). It claims to support Treo Voice dial from the bluetooth adapter. I have one but haven't tried it so I don't know if it works. You have to have the voice dial s/w from Palm installed ($20).
I don't know if this helps at all.

Caller Id Treo 700p Nuvi 660

I downloaded the software update and still have the same problem with caller Id Does anyone have any suggestions?

"phone dissconnteced"

gusr205,

I to get the phone disconnected when using Bluetooth. I use a Samsung A900 w/Sprint. I did notice it only happens when both the Nuvi and the A900 batteries are low.

If I charge either one fully, the problem does not happen as often. Does not happen at all when bother are kept charged.

Let me know if you find the same issue.

I have not noticed this

I have not noticed this problem with mine, but the person on the phone ways complains about the sound quality.

NO BODY CAN HEAR ME

i just got a nuvi 660 and got it to pair with my 700p. however, the speaker isnt picking anything up or its not working. im not sure. i need help with this. please help. i can say whatever i want and nobody can hear me.

Nobody can hear me either.

I have the same problems with my 700P and c550. Caller ID information is not always correct and callers complain that it sounds as though I am very far away from the mic. I also have a hard time hearing callers using the built in speakers. I am going to try and external mic to see if it makes a difference.

Nuvi 680 Bluetooth/Speaker Fone

I have a Treo 700wx and continuously get the Phone Disconnected message. However, it does keep working. It appears to only disconnect for a moment, just long enough to make the disconnect message pop up.

I also get the complaints about the speakerphone sounding like I am far away. You would think at the $1k price point that Garmin would put some digital processing on the speaker phone or something to insure that is sounds good.
