So I have my new 760, ( arrives on the 3rd) and my question is anybody have the XM and then upgrade to MSN? If so would you do it again? What do you think was best?

FM Traffic

I have a 550 with the FM traffic. It saves me a significant amount of travel time in a major metro area. I would have considered the MSN service and a different GPS but the coverage seemed better/faster with FM when I bought my GPS. Regardless of what avenue you take, traffic info does help travel times.

MSN

Just bought my 760 on Christmas Eve and ordered the MSN. I am in the Dallas area. Just received the MSN yesterday and will activate it tomorrow. Will report then

Patience.... CES is coming

I recommend waiting just a little bit longer before making the decision.... CES is coming next week. Historically new product announcements come then. At last year in Las Vegas at CES is where the MSN Direct was announced with the 680. wink

I activated my MSN

I activated my MSN yesterday. It tooka out 20 minutes to get up and running, but it works nice. I was wondering why some things didn't show (i.e Movie Theaters). There were 3 near me that weren't popping up. After about 20 minutes, it seemed everything loaded.

Some of the names of the gas stations are not showing, it just says unknown. But, it works well. It will list stations determined by distance (closest, next closest, etc.) You just have to scroll down to find more. It would be nice if it listed by price, but not a big deal. With the way it does it now, I at least know which station it is if the Unknown icon pops up

I have enjoyed it in the 2 days I have had it. It's more of a gadget, but I love gadgets hahahaha.

It takes several hours/days for all the information to fill in (depending on how long the unit is on). I have only had mine for a couple weeks and in two cities. It seems that the traffic and weather are first and then the price of gas. Then the movie theaters. Then it will start filling in the unknown gas names. I have enjoyed using mine and not had any real problems. The gas feature seems to update enough to be useful. Not concerned about the movies. I have read that not all theaters are in msn's database. Not sure why.

Thanks. Yes, I noticed

Thanks. Yes, I noticed things started to fill in during the day. It still is filling in.

My wife and daughter were the ones who wanted to see the movie theaters hahaha. Once I showed them that it had updated, I lost my Nuvi for the day hahaha.

The traffic seems pretty good, too.

I have been using MSN for

I have been using MSN for the past four months and I love it (nuvi 680). I live in the Ft. Lauderdale/Miami area and I always get reception, even inside a close garage! I know that other users have complained about spotty reception in other areas, but not here in Ft. Lauderdale.
The other day I took to check published gas prices vs. physical and they are very accurate. In fact of a sampling of +/- 15 gas stations all published gas prices were spot on!
If I would have a complaint, it would be with traffic information, in that you might run into an unreported traffic jam or the other way around. However, as I understand traffic is an ongoing problem with all GPSs. Also, MSN does not report traffic speed progression here in Ft. Lauderdale as it does on other large metropolitan areas.
Overall, I’m very impress with MSN in the area where I live and use it!
