Mouse GPS

Would have been nice if I had seen that BEFORE I bought 2008 with the little square thing.

What little square thing are you talking about?

The receiver I got with MS S&T 2008 came is a little square box that hooks into the computer via the USB port. Picks up the GPS faster than my 660. Well it picks it up in my Mobile Home, where the 660 doesn't.

The little square thing is called an external GPS antenna. I have one for my GPS III and it's much better at getting a signal then the included antenna or even my newer nuvi? It's a BMC connector so I can't connect it to my nuvi unless I would attempt some soldering.

the little square thing is not an antenna, it' the gps itself, with no screen, like the garmin GPS 18 or the Duelo GPS1. To be more exact, it' s a GPS sensor (or receiver) without the software, more than an antenna. It send sentence in garmin format and/or NMEA depending of the model.

The Garmin 18 looks alot like what you are talking about...and I cant believe it comes with Software for 99 bucks..

do a pretty good job for what their intended. I noticed Amazon is sold out. If one has a hundred bucks to buy another computer toy, maybe it would be handy and fun to play with on the desk of a static computer.
