is there anyone here that knows if you can and how to create a custom avoidance . I am a truck driver and went and got a garmin nuvi 350 and am finding all kinds of poi files on where low bridges are and it will aleart me when one is comming up ...... but if i could make a custom avoidance mabye it would calculate my route and avoid the roads that lead to the poi's that we already have ...or could i some how put the poi's in there and tell it these are all ferries or something

There's not currently a way to create custom avoidances. At least not on the nuvis. And Custom POIs can not currently be set to be avoided.
MM is always right...
The best you can do is create a POI file of stuff the be avoided and set an alert with enough time for you to get out of the way.
I've got a .GPX POI file that will alert within 5-miles of an object, then I make the decision to drive on or plow ahead. I call it my Forbidden Zone POI.

Auggie, That only turns on the audio alerts for custom POIs. It doesnt allow you to create a new avoidance. I believe he wanted to create a new avoidance, such as having "Low Bridges" along with "Tolls", "unpaved road", etc. That way, he wouldn't be routed that way if such an avoidance is there.
