poi new zealand

Hi everybody,

Does anybody know how I can get the following to work?
I downloaded the poi file from http://www.poi-factory.com/node/2691, uploaded to my nuvi. POI Loader says succesfully uploaded 65365. In the poi folder I see a file .gpi. But when I look in OWN Poi there are no POI.

Does anybody have an idea??

oh by the way I have a Garmin nuvi 300

thanks

Where are you?

If you're more than about 5000 miles from the POI, it doesn't display in the list of Custom POI's (for some reason).

Switch off GPS (ie close flap) -- Use Browse Map and "Set Loc." to set your simulated position somewhere closer to NZ.

Your custom poi file should be either .GPX or .CSV I Don't know what .GPI is

Custom POI's (and Travel Guides) are stored in .GPI files; that is the format that the unit firmware understands.

Utilities like POI Loader, GPI_Creator (and even gpsbabel) take input like .csv, .gpx and .xml files and 'compile' them into .GPI files.

(I use the term 'compile' loosely!)
