small dots on screen .....Should I return the unit?

Hi Everyone:

I am a gps newbie and I really like My c340 unit and
I just noticed tonight while driving at night I have
2 dots pinpoint very small on my screen that do not
move. I think they are green and blue. Should i return
the unit and exchange it? Its only a couple of weeks
old and I really like it.

Thanks in advance for the answers

And while I am at it, take advantage of the prices and get a bigger screen.
Fact/

Defective Pixels

These are called defective -or 'dead'- pixels, and are fairly common. Different manufacturers have different policies as far as how many they tolerate bedfore rejecting a display, or placing it in production, and also how many the consumer product must have before they would accept a return (i.e more than three, four, seven, etc.) Some however, offer a zero-tolerance guarantee for their products (Such as Nintendo, for the Nintendo DS) and will replace/repair even if one pixel is defective.
I don't know what Garmin's policy is, I'd recommend you to check your product documentation or contact customer support.

Good luck!

I will make a trip to best buy

Hi Again:

Thanks for the tip I bought the unit from BestBuy
with an extended warrenty. One of those times it
pays to have it.

I am going to move next week from Cheesland to North
Carolina and I dont want dead pixels on a lonely Mountain trail road to happen in the smokey mountains. I hope it works good in that area.

Good luck in the move. Make

Good luck in the move. Make sure you are careful in speeding in NC.

I would definitely take it back and exchange it!

Dead Pixels buried..............New Unit installed

I went back to Best Buy today and since it is the holiday season I checked with the clerk to see it they had any in stock. I told him about my dead
pixel situation and he was very prompt he got a replacement unit for me and I brought my unit into
the store and it was replaced with a new unit.

The other bonus was I paid for installation(I am
Mr all thumbs)and I brought it to the installation
department and he fired it up and checked it out
for me and I was on my way with the streetpilot.

I am thankful for the advice I could of been on a
mountain pass and my unit might of had more dead
pixels happing or whatever. This unit is working
well and I really enjoy it.

I was driving home and it was getting dark and
the feature came on converting to night version.
It was like having a scout next to me driving.

I will have to try to download some P.O.I. for
North Carolina and will hit the stelth button
to avoid the radar (just kidding) I bet they
have that feature on the government units!

I dont know the process on how someone makes a
P.O.I. to share with the group. I imagine someone
driving down the road with a long piece of paper
writing down the corridinates to download later
on. I could do it with a tricorder .

Again thanks for the support and I will be living
near the sylva area and be on a job hunt after
the holidays.......I will set employers on my
favorites when I am driving.
