Voice Prompt for Traffic Garmin 660

Does any one know why I am not recieving a voice prompt for upcoming traffic situations.

I get the visual indication on the screen but do not receice a voice prompt on my Garmin 660.

I had to go off a major highway due to an accident ahead but did not receive a voice prompt.

Sorry, don't know. But

Sorry, don't know. But wanted to bump it up so that perhaps someone else would see it and answer your question.

I take it that other audio is working fine, right? Try doing a reset and see if that helps...just throwing darts in the dark.

I've not (that I recall) gotten a verbal .. Accident Ahead... or anything similar. Only audible I recall is for slow traffic. I could be wrong.

I have gotten an audible "Entering Slow Traffic Area" while Not on a route or "Slow Traffic Ahead" while On a route.

$0.02

That's my $0.02 -> Jill is announcing the "traffic allert" IF the 660 is powered by the cigarette lighter and is staying quiet IF the 660 is running on its own battery.
This happened to me only once, may be only a coincidence...

Traffic Alert is only when tethered to DC cord.

Since the Traffic Alert receiver is built within the DC adapter, you will not get any traffic alerts if running the unit on battery power.

Au contraire! I am getting traffic alerts even if running the unit on battery power because the traffic receiver is still powered up (and draining the internal battery pretty fast, by the way...) but the whole issue is not getting vocal alerts, besides the yellow/red diamonds on the screen, when not tethered to DC cord...
