need ideas on mounting

i need help mounting
well i thought about the bean bag mount but i have a feeling its gonna fly out of my car.the AC vent mount just wont do it, plus i need all the vents i have.

i tired using the disc it gives you to mount onto my dash. the disc tape isnt strong enough to stay. so i was wondering if there any other ways to mount it or if there are any recommendations of a certain type of tape i can use to mount the disc. i have garmin nuvi 650 and s2000(dash) if that info helps.

thank you

need ideas on mounting

Did you clean the dash with alcohol first where you put the garmin disc

garmin makes 2 different adhesives one is it will come back off easy the other is a permant one and it won't come off you might ruin the dash trying to get it off
go to garmin.com and look up accesories for your unit

I use the Loboy with flexpad

I use the Loboy with flexpad mount for my Avmap, holds great, low in profile and priced right. It should match up to your bolt pattern but you may want to call them. Of course look on the site they may have something else of interest. Good luck!

Vehicle Specific Mounts

I used to have a satellite radio. I did not like any of the vehcile mounts that I seen on the net. Until I found a company that made metal brackets (mounts) that were specifically made for your vehicle.

The company is Pro-Fit. Their mounts are easy to install. Just removed the dash trim (just snaps into place, most vehicles) remove a couple of screws and intall the bracket. And you satellite radio was securded inplace.

The do not sell any bracket mounts that would be for GPSr.

Arkon, The Mobile Mounting Specialists

http://www.arkon.com/

Arkon Resources has about every mounting conceivable for small anything that you don't want to put in your dash.

My own personal preference on windshield styles is not to use the single arm variety because they vibrate just a little but instead I like the double arm variety

Garmin Bean Bag

I have been using it for several months and have been amazed how stable it is even when breaking hard! Many local electronic stores that have liberal return policies sell them, you may want to try it. When not in use, I simply throw it under the seat!
Good luck

I use the same ..

I use the same bag too and love it.. its easy, I can put the gps anywhere I want and holds nice.. When I have a passagenge they like to slide it by them to play / watch it.. and when I am by myself I put it near the door on the driver side.. love it there the best.. just my 2 cents..

beanbag

I used the beanbag for the past five years with my Streetpilot, which is much heavier than my current Nuvi 350. Believe me, the beanbag will no move, short of your running into a telephone pole.

Modifry mounts

I know this is a REALLY old posting, but I thought I would reply since I was recently looking for a good S2000 mounting option. This is what I found, and it seems easy to install.

I'm going to order mine tomorrow. If it works well, I'll make a new posting to let you know.

If any of you have used this, or have seen it being used, please let me know! Thanks.

A different way to mount

I didn't like the windshield mount, plus it is illegal in my state, and mounting it to the dash put it in my line of sight for other traffic, so I pulled out my otherwise unused ashtray in my Mercury Sable and laid it in there. Easy glance down to see and I can hear the voice pretty plainly too. It's out of sight from sticky fingered passer-bys too, you have to almost put your head against the side window to see it. As long as I turn it off at night when I leave the car, it is invisible at night.

Magellan Maestro 3225

Corner of windshield.

I mount mine in the left bottom corner of the windshield. It's out of the way and I just have to glance over to see it. Don't even have to move my head.

And I believe you are referring to the "old" square style rather than the new one.

Cigarette Lighter Mount

Has anyone used one of those?

I currently use the windshield mount. I have a 2002 4runner and mount it at the top of the windshield by the mirror and it doesn't block my view. I get no glare if I mount it there and it is easy to see. I loop the power cord over the back of the mirror and it keeps it from falling if the suction cup on the mount fails, which hasn't happened with my 255w, but did with my streetpilot c330.

Seems like everyone likes the beanbag mount. Do you get any glare when the nuvi is mounted on the dash?

I have one for my 60CSx. You can also buy individual pieces and create a mount that will fit your needs.

That's a clever way of doing it. thanks for the info. I will probably keep mine by the mirror, but would consider your way if need be.

thanks.

Ordered Bean Bag

Just ordered beanbag mount for nuvi from Amazon. $24.97. I did this because of all the feedback from the users on this site.

thanks.
