Anyone else having issues with getting the tracks to upload to mapsource from their 750. I keep getting a communications error.
Make sure your MapSource version is updated to the latest version. Don't use the update tool within MapSource. Go to Garmin's website and download the update. The latest version is 6.13.5.
thank you MM, I did update and I still get the communications error. everything else seems to transfer fine. I think its in the 750 software.
What firmware version are you running?
If that's been updated, you might want to try re-installing the MapSource update.
I tried to find the update, but after going to the Garmin web site, clicking on the tab that says Support, then in the drop down menu clicking on updates & downloads brings to me a blue tab called Mapping programs. Once this is clicked, the 3rd file option down is Mapsource 6.13.4, I don't see any 6.13.5 in the entire list. Where can I find the update?
I just downloaded tracks fron my 750 no problem. I'm running Mapsource 6.13.2 and whatever the latest firmware is for the 750

Thanks lsmonop, you'd think Garmin would change the list to read as what the update really is, i.e. verison number 6.13.5 instead of 6.13.4. I would have expected Garmin to give better "directions" to locate this update file (no pun intended).

I've just received my Nuvi 750 and I've loaded some POIs, etc. I new to GPS and have a question regarding MapSource. I have installed MapSource on my computer, and have connected the Nuvi 750, but when I run MapSource it says I have no MapSource products. What do I need to download tracks, etc. as you said in your post?
Have you run the "Un-lock Wizard" on Mapsource?
Usually, people see this error when they don't actually have MaSource installed on their computers and are trying to run the update installer that they downloaded from Garmin's website.
You cannot download MapSource from the internet. Since your unit didn't come with the installation disk, you will need to call Garmin and ask them to send it to you. Usually they will do so for free.
Install the program from the disk on your computer, and then run the update program to update MapSource to the most current version.
