NUVI 660/ POI File

Being a newbie, I have a question, I have downloaded a file to a folder on my computer, then opened the POI loader, copied the file to a SD Disk on the NUVI. Question is how do I get the NUVI to read the disk so that I can use the POI file?

Are you sure it isn't on your Nuvi. Turn on your 660. Click on Where to?, Click on extras and there should be something called Custom POIs listed. Click on that and you should see them. Also, I used my SD card to load music, pix, etc. I load my POI's directly to my Garmin's 680 memory. I have loaded over 200,000 POI's and had no problem with space. However, I did delete all the other languages, etc that was stored on the Garmin's memory.

If your 660 works anything like my 650...

When you disconnect your nuvi from your PC and power it up, the main screen will show that a new poi.gpi file ( which should be in the \garmin\poi folder on your SD card ) is available and do you want to load it into memory. Just answer the questions and your new POI data will be available under "Where to?" -> "Extras" -> "Custom POIs"

I should gotten back to let you know that I have figured this out with help, have about 8 things down loaded and put on the NUVI and also the SD card. Some things are easier when you have outside help. Thanks for the help.
