Garmin and Mac 10.5 Leopard experiences

I have tried my nuvi with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and the Garmin software. Everything has worked just as it had under Tiger 10.4. The nuvi mounts after about 30 seconds (this longer mount time began after the latest firmware update). The POI Loader and the WebUpdater work just fine.

If you are having other experiences please describe in this thread.

nuvi 350 And Mac 10.5 Leopard

I also had no problem getting the nuvi to mount and update the files with Garmin POI Loader 2.0.2.1

But I could never unmount the nuvi as in the past by ejecting it from the desktop. I always had to resort to first turning the nuvi off and then disconnecting it from my laptop.

I've since gone back to OSX 10.4.10 because of other compatibility issues with 10.5.

I like rice. Rice is great if you're hungry and want 2,000 of something.

Try ejecting from sidebar in Finder window

I haven't had that problem with ejecting the nuvi. However, another method that may work for those problems is to open a Finder window and eject the GPS from the sidebar. Click on the little Eject symbol next to it. That will usually eject devices that are reluctant to let go.

If you open "Disk Utility" and click on the volume mounted on the Desktop, you will see "Unmount" brighten in the top bar. If the "Garmin nuvi Flash Media" is clicked only the "Eject" will be bright. Click "Unmount" and in a couple of seconds the volume will disappear from the Desktop. Good to unplug.
