Streets & Trips

Can I convert a Streets & Trips file to a Garmin compatible format?

Thanks,

Darren

re Streets and Trips file

not sure what such a file is, but if you turn on the Tools | Location Sensor in subject software, then a popup window will display the latitude & longitude for the location of your cursor, and zooming that location obviously pinpoints it pretty accurately.

Yes, go download GPS

Yes, go download GPS Utility. Maps Unique just released a new freeware version in November. You can find this at http://www.gpsu.co.uk/ .

What you do is save your pushpin file (*.est), then open with GPS Utility. Then you can modify and save it off to any format you wish, including Garmin POI. There are limits to this GPS Utility freeware, such as 100 waypoints (hint POI), but I never go above 100 waypoints at a time to convert anyway. You can just save off 100 at a time to Garmin *.csv, then combine them via copy and paste into one file. Very simple. I use it a lot because it's the one utility I've found that does all formats from csv to GPX to KMZ, to EST, so I can wander from one software package to another. I have to use it at work a lot because my customers use S&T, and my employees use Street Atlas, and you can't import EST files into Street Atlas.
