School Zone Warnings

If you have a single speed, i.e. 25mph, you can rename the file to include 25 in the name. When you load it, you will get an alarm if you are over that speed. You can also load the file in manual mode with POI Loader and set the speed. If you need individual speeds for different sites, you can add "@25" to the location name or "@20".

Just an FYI, my company's main clients are public school systems. I travel much to them. I have found though, that most schools are far enough off the road in the poi file that you won't get an alert. Just my two cents worth.

anyway we can set a radius alert system? that way it's alerting you that you're approaching a school zone rather than you having to be going in a specific direction for the alert to go off like the red light camera. Does this make any sense? Sometimes it's hard to put ideas into writing... (makes sense in my head.lol)

i believe the school zones are posted within a radius, please correct me if I'm wrong.

I created seperate speed zone POI files that I use for common speed traps and school zones that I travel through regularly. That is why I created the series of speed BMPs now in the Icon section of POI Factory.

Helps me to remember to slow down when I'm commuting on autopilot!
