No My 2720 Has 357,784 custom poi files in it not counting all the ones that Garmin put in and not a problem there is room for Thousands and thousands more

Connect your gpsr to the computer, if it is seen as a separate drive, you can check the properties and see how much internal storage space you have remaining.
If your SD card is installed and shows up as a mass storage device you can also check it's properties and view the remaining space available.

As far as a single file size limit, I think the only problem one may have is with the Poi Loader handling a very large file. Of course you'd need the available space on the unit or sd card.
