Software update gone

I updated my Nuvi 200 to v3.00 yesterday and now the Garmin website is showing 2.90 as the most current download. Is there something wrong with 3.00 that I should be aware of?

Thanks Rigel

"Lila" updated again . Thanks

Updates for the C-340 (ver 4.3)

For what it's worth, I updated (via WEBUPDATER)my C-340 last night. Today I had the hardest time acquiring satellites at all. Also, if I went off course, and I was "recalculated", my system froze completely. This happened several times with the ultimate re-boot, hard start, reset, etc all having to be employed until I seem to be back to normal.
Just a heads up to all.

There was an update

There was an update available last night for the 660 as well, now today it is back to the may date.

Thanks. I just got my c330

Thanks. I just got my c330 last weekend as a wedding gift. I did the update on the software and then learned my map, NT v. 8, is two to three years old. Frustrating! Although, Garmin phone support tech . . . guy offered it to me for $35, half off the retail. That's a little better but still frustrating. Is it worth it?

Update

Boy, it must be who you call ... I called today and they told me I could get the 2008 NT version for my Nuvi 680 which I purchased this past Saturday. The tech person said it is back ordered and won't be available until the end of the month and they are updating the server to allow you to update for free to the newer version if you put in your serial number and if you have registered the unit on line. The tech person said within a week they should have the web site updated to request the free update on line. He said the Garmin site should be updated by the end of the week. We'll see!

New software updates for some Garmin units

I just got my Nuvi370 last week. I called csr or tech support and asked about the 2008 map. They offer to send it to me at end of this month for free also.
I checked their web site first and they wanted to charge me $79 or something.

Map Update

If you've been following the map update threads it has been made pretty clear from Garmin that the C330 is not getting a free upgrade on the maps from May 1st like some of the others. The excuse is that it won't hold the new update completely but I more suspect it's the amount that Garmin sells this unit for. I haven't found anything that says the 330 has less of anything except the ability to speak street names (and I suspect that's an artificial competitive limit put on it from Garmin).

As was mentioned here several times, try, try again. Worst case, take it back to your retailer for a refund. It's certainly new enough. Most have 30 day refunds.

Love Garmin but stay kind, respectful and somewhat adamant that no free update is really unacceptable.

Have you noticed any changes since going to version 3.00? I've been using v2.90 for a few weeks and am happy with the improvements.

Are you certain the update was for the nuvi 200?

Garmin update

One of the things that Garmin claims to have improved is Sat. Acqusition. I downloaded and tried it today on my C340. It definitely was faster in "Ready for Navigation". Surprisingly this was from inside the house on batteries, not in the car.

We'll see in actual use.

The update was for the Nuvi 200 and it was showing version 3.00 when I checked the system settings on mine. However, I see today where v3.10 has been released so I installed that. Must have been something that they didn't like about 3.00 but didn't realize it until after it was released.

I had the exact same problem, can I revert back to older version

It took 15 minutes to acquire satellites . MY system has frozen also. I have tried ultimate re-boot, hard reset as well. Still took a while to acquire. It went off course in NORMAL mode, worked very well in the more WAAS/EGNOS mode.

Came home and reloaded the update again. It is working better. Does anyone know if we can reload verson 4.0 seems more stable to me.?

C340 update 4.3 glitch

I updated (via webupdater) last evening. Tried it today from my home to Manchester Airport in N.H. It shut off every few minutes. I had to restart it over and over. Each time it turned on, it picked up where it left off. I put in a written request for help on the Garmin site. I called the 800 number but was told the wait would be 30 minutes, I did hold for 15 minutes, but had to hang up (the people I dropped off at the airport called...their flight was cancelled due to bad weather somewhere along their flight path).
I hope any of you who have problems with this update write or call Garmin, maybe they'll issue a patch of some kind.
