I'm not familiar with this model, I have a C550 but you should check your ops manual for that info. If you don't have it, you can find the manual at www.garmin.com.

What gold plugs you talking about the Garmin SP2720 Only Has one wire that has the speaker hooked to it at the Cig lighter plug end and the other end plugs into the back of the unit

the only other wire is the USB cable that connects the unit to a computer...
and a power cord that fits in the same plug where the speaker wire is attached to the unit...

Called Garmin
They said the 2720 uses the same speaker/cigarette lighter power combo as the 2730. The 2730 has a feature called "Dead Reckoning" that plugs into the side of the speaker. The other end connects to your speedometer. If you lose satellite, it can tell you where you are. That is what he said.
