garmin c550

I have just bought a garmin c550. How do you activate the poi's that are loaded into the system? I HAVE NO RESPONSE FROM THE DATABASE ON POI'S.

Garmin C550 POI

Dave,
I don't think I did anything to activate the POIs. On my C550 to find the preloaded POIs, from the main menu press 'where to?', then 'food, hotels', then the category such as 'food', press the one you want such as 'all food', a list should appear, press the one you want and then the show map. It should be there. I can also see the POIs if I press 'where to?", then the down arrow, the 'browse map" then use the + on the screen to zoom to 300ft. You can touch the screen and drag the map.
Hope this helps.

Ronnie

.

Yeah, what exactly do you mean by "activate" and "no response for the the database"?

Poi,s

If I remember correctly my first GPS was a 550 and it did not come with POI,s. It had categories like foods, hotels and various other things, but when I click on POI,s it came up none listed. You have to load your own POI,s either from this site which has a great many or buy them from Garmin or whoever. I could be wrong, my memory is not as good as it was,I,am talking a couple of years ago.

The c550 has all of the built in POIs loaded. You just have to go to "where to" and select the proper icons. Custom POIs are listed under Extras.
